Terms and conditions

Reservations can be made by phone, e-mail or letter. A booking letter will then be forwarded to the customer by email. The supply of email address, home address, guest names and details and telephone number by email is also sufficient where the group organiser confirms his or her intention to book and pays appropriately and has written confirmation from Polglase Partners as supplying the holiday accommodation. Completion of confirmation booking email along with deposit (as a bank transfer where possible) must be received within 7 days of initial reservation date in order for the holiday to be considered as booked; otherwise the reservation will be considered as no longer valid and will return to being available. Confirmation of booking is acceptance of these terms and conditions and we are happy to clarify or discuss variance in exceptional cases.

An advance deposit of at least  30% of total rental (non-refundable) must accompany the booking confirmation for the reservation of the cottage. Reservations are subject to written confirmation upon receipt of deposit.

The balance of the total rental cost must be paid in full at least 6 weeks prior to commencement of holiday. Failure to send the balance payment by the due date, may be viewed as the customer cancelling the holiday. Under such circumstances, the deposit will not be refunded.

If you cancel your booking you must immediately notify us in writing. In the event of a cancellation you will still be liable to pay the total amount due. However, if we manage to re-let the accommodation, 75% of the total price will be returned. You are advised to take out cancellation insurance to cover this eventuality.

The cottage, apartments and yurt are available after 4:00 p.m. on day of arrival. Accommodation in the cottage, apartments and yurt is restricted to the number of persons stated on the booking form. The accommodation is to be vacated by 10.00 a.m. on day of departure. Please notify us of any change in number of persons as it may still be possible to accommodate you.

Customers are responsible for keeping and leaving the cottage in a clean and tidy condition.  Charges will be made for additional cleaning and breakages.

Reservations for all young male or female parties will only be accepted at the owners’ discretion.

Customers are requested not to smoke unless well away from the buildings please.

Dogs We welcome well behaved dogs at our discretion for an additional  charge and a small damage deposit refundable following full cleaning. Dogs are allowed only on the non carpeted areas, are not permitted into bedrooms or onto furniture. We request that droppings are collected.

We shall make every effort to rectify any faults or make repairs to equipment or services as soon as possible, should the need arise. We cannot however, be held responsible for any such breakdowns or loss.

If for any reason beyond the owners control (e.g. fire, flood damage) the property is not available for the date of the holiday booked, all rent and charges paid in advance by the customer will be refunded in full. The customer shall have no further claim against the owners.

We cannot accept liability for injury or loss of life to any person within the premises. Neither can we accept liability for loss or damage to any property or vehicle brought onto the premises. We recommend that the customer takes out his own private insurance as required.

We are not registered for VAT and therefore there will be no associated charges.

General: Albion cottage, apartments and Albion Farm Yurts are let as “Holiday Lets” as defined in the Housing Act 1988. Guests may occupy a cottage only for a holiday as agreed when a booking is confirmed.

ALBION COTTAGE

Albion Cottage is ideal for families as everyone can enjoy themselves in our garden, on our tennis courts, on our trampoline, or by taking walks in the countryside surrounding the cottage, or just relaxing and watching our free range chickens peck for worms.

COURTYARD APPARTMENT

The Courtyard Apartment is at the back of the house at first floor level. It has views over the garden and extensive views for miles over fields and wooded country. It makes an ideal gettaway from the hussle and bustle of urban life and work.

YURT

We have introduced our environmentally friendly Yurt for Holiday’s in Cornwall on our smallholding near Mylor as an alternative to the traditional holiday cottage. We selected a Yurt rather than a tepee for the convenience of having a wood burning stove to keep it cosy.
